Santh Chokamela Samadhi at Mangalaveda…

There is one Samadhi at Pandharipur where, the ashes and bones of the saint are kept.

The remaining part of ashes and bones are kept here in Mangavedha Samadhi mandir…

While building a wall at this place only, Santh Chokamela leaves his body in the fire accident while chanting “Vittal Vittal…”

Namdev Maharaj identifies the remains of Chokamela’s body by listening to the Vittal nAma chanting done by the ashes and bones of Santh Chokamela!!!

Month of Vaikasi, panchami tithi is his Samadhi day.

Chokamela belonged to the “Mahar” caste. He used to do the work of burying dead cows outside the city/village area.

At one time when he did not have any helper, Vittalan himself comes in disguise to help Chokamela carry and bury the dead cow…

Pandurangan has taken meals at Santh Chokamela’s house…

Pandurangan has himself taken hold of Chokamela’s hands and taken him inside the sanctum of his temple, spending the whole night chatting away with his bhakthan…
