Where perumAl came as a green elephant…

When Yudhishtira was doing Rajasooya yaagam, raakshasas were troubling him. He prays to bhagavan. So, the Lord appears as a green elephant and kills off all the rakshasas…

In the temple dwajasthambham, we can see the form of the elephant at the base…

Inside the temple, perumAl is in sitting posture.

Just like in paramapadham, one leg is folded and the other is kept down.

With one hand perumAl invites us to come near him.

With his right hand, he gives abhayam to us…
