Yadhavaprakasha, the VendanthaGuru of Swami Ramanuja was an “udumbu” (Monitor-Lizard) in a previous birth near this place. The devotees who travelled from Srirangam to Thirumalai Thirupathi, sat in this place and took their meals. The food particles that were scattered on the ground were eaten by the udumbu. He, in turn, was born as a Vedantha teacher to Ramanuja himself, and later became Govinda jeeyyar.This Eri Kaatha Ramar was a witness for all of these happenings…
