The hill that Krishna lifted in his hand to save his people of Vrindavan...

The divine hill that will remain till the 10,000th year of Kali yuga only. We are in Kaliyuga's 5000th year. In the next 5000 years, the hill will gradually become smaller and cease to exist...

The hill itself is Krishna swaroopam...

Once Madhavendrapuri mahraaj (Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's paramaGuru) was doing bhajan in this place. A young cowherd boy came and told him - "no one should do fasting in this place . The Gopikas who went this way informed about you". And gave a pot of milk to drink. The milk was very sweet...

Madhavendrapuri was constantly thinking of this young boy. At night, the little boy came in his dream . He ran and hid on top of the Govardhana Giri. Then he gave darshan as Bhagavan Krishna himself. He said that he was buried under the sand on Govardhana Giri since a long time and asked him to take out and do pooja. Next day morning, Madhavendrapuri ji got the moorthy of Srinathji from Govardhana Giri.

Krishna gives darshan to all those who come to the Govardhana Giri...

It was under this hill that the Gopas and Gopis stood safely for 7 days without knowing hunger or thirst...
